Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of HoundAlpha’s mobile applications, websites, AI features, brokerage-connected features, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. You must provide accurate information, protect your login credentials and devices, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless prohibited by law.

2. Brokerage connections and orders

Brokerage connections are provided through third parties and remain subject to your agreements with your broker and the integration provider. Supported institutions, assets, order types, and functionality may change.

• You authorize HoundAlpha and its providers to retrieve brokerage information and transmit instructions you submit.
• Your broker—not HoundAlpha—accepts, rejects, routes, executes, clears, and custodies transactions and assets.
• Quotes, balances, holdings, order status, and portfolio calculations may be delayed, incomplete, or different from your broker’s records. Your broker’s records control.
• You are responsible for reviewing symbols, quantities, order types, prices, time-in-force, options details, and risk before submitting an order.
• HoundAlpha is not responsible for market movement, broker outages, rejected or duplicate orders, connectivity failures, or losses resulting from user instructions, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

3. Hound AI, bots, and backtests

AI-generated content and automated strategies are tools for research and execution assistance. They may misunderstand a request, use incomplete information, generate incorrect analysis, or behave unexpectedly. You must independently review output and remain responsible for any strategy, parameter, data source, or order you approve.

Backtests, simulations, sample returns, and leaderboard results are hypothetical or historical. They may omit slippage, liquidity limits, fees, taxes, assignment risk, corporate actions, outages, or other real-world conditions. Past or simulated performance does not guarantee future results.

4. Community and packs

The Services may let you publish posts, trade ideas, comments, messages, profile information, and other content (“User Content”). You retain ownership of User Content, but grant HoundAlpha a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and distribute it as needed to operate and improve the Services and to make it available to the audience you select.

You may not use the Services to harass others; manipulate markets; coordinate unlawful trading; impersonate another person; publish deceptive performance claims; distribute malware; expose another person’s private information; or post content that is illegal or infringes intellectual-property rights. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts to protect users and the Services.

5. Acceptable use

You may not circumvent security or access controls, scrape the Services, reverse engineer non-public components, overload infrastructure, use automated access outside provided features, probe for vulnerabilities without written authorization, or use the Services in violation of law or third-party rights.

6. Third-party services and content

The Services rely on third parties for authentication, cloud hosting, brokerage connectivity, market and news data, AI processing, notifications, and payments. Third-party terms and privacy policies may apply. HoundAlpha does not control third-party availability, accuracy, security, or decisions.

7. Memberships and payments

If paid features are offered, prices, billing periods, renewal terms, and cancellation options will be shown before purchase. App-store purchases are also governed by the applicable store’s terms. Deleting your HoundAlpha account may not automatically cancel an Apple or other third-party subscription; manage those subscriptions through the provider that billed you.

8. Intellectual property

The Services, excluding User Content, are owned by HoundAlpha and its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, HoundAlpha grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for lawful purposes.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Services at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address violations, legal requirements, security risks, nonpayment, or harm to users or the Services. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” HoundAlpha disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, and trading or investment results. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HoundAlpha and its affiliates, personnel, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities; or trading and investment losses arising from or related to the Services. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid HoundAlpha for the Services during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100.

12. Changes

We may change the Services or these Terms. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice as appropriate. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
